Chocolate

The Girl LOVES chocolate! So we decided to take the learning further.

We (along with another home edding family) went to visit a small chocolate making shop. This was such a great starting point as it really inspired them.

The owners took them through each step of chocolate making.

Then it was time for some real hot chocolate!

Next we had a go at painting chocolate into moulds.

This was trickier than we first thought!

Next it was finding out about the origin of cacao.

They were delighted to take their goodies home.

We decided to have a go at making our own chocolates. Lots of fun using the moulds The Girl got for her birthday.

We then took them around friends and created a tally chart on the favourite flavours.

And set up a chocolate play dough invitation to play

Numicon wrapped in foil look like chocolate bars and are great for maths skills.

We finished the project off by making chocolate bowls and gloop to play in!
