Children love Ladybirds. Here's a great playdough provocation to inspire them further.
Red and black playdough is so effective. Great for creating the symmetrical spots on a ladybird.
Here's our recipe for creating a great malleable playdough. You could also add strawberry essence to make it even more of a sensory experience.
Red Playdough
You need:
·
450g plain flour
·
230g salt
·
8 tsp cream of tartar
·
5 tbsp cooking oil
·
430ml boiling water
·
Red food colouring
·
Strawberry food essence
All
you do is:
Mix
the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil together in a large bowl. Add the food
colouring to the water and mix into the other ingredients. At this point add
the essence. Turn onto a floured surface and knead. If sticky, wait a few
minutes and it will turn into a pile of fluffiness! Keep in a sealed bag or box
and it will last for ages!

Googly eyes and black pipe cleaners add detail to the ladybirds.
