Spring time playdough provocation

A perfect provocation for spring time!

Spring Time Playdough Provocation

Scented and coloured play dough, gardening pots, sticks, gravel and seeds. Create plants and have discussions on their names and parts. Have the real plants or cards available for inspiration and reference.

I've made three different types of play dough for this provocation. A chocolate one for the soil, a lemon scented for flowers and green mint scented for stems. It's so easy to make! The play dough from this recipe is so warm and fluffy when its first made! Irresistible!

Chocolate Playdough
You need

  450g plain flour

         230g salt
         8 tsp cream of tartar
         5 tbsp cooking oil
         1 tbsp cocoa powder
         440ml boiling water

All you do is:

Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar, oil and cocoa powder together in a large bowl. Stir in the water. It may seem sticky to begin with but wait a couple of minutes and it will become gorgeous and fluffy! It smells good enough to eat! Keep in a sealed bag or box and it will last for ages!

 Lemon Playdough

You need

450g plain flour
   230g salt

         8 tsp cream of tartar
        5 tbsp cooking oil
         430ml boiling water
        Yellow food colouring
         Lemon essence

Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil together in a large bowl. Add the food colouring to the water and mix into the other ingredients. At this point add the essence. Turn onto a floured surface and knead. If sticky, wait a few minutes and it will turn into a pile of fluffiness! Keep in a sealed bag or box and it will last for ages!
