Can you build a bridge for the Gingerbread Boy to get across the river with, using sticks and marshmallows (without eating them before it is built?!)
We're doing a project on bridges at the moment due to the children being fascinated when we went over the Humber Bridge. We read the story of The Gingerbread Boy and set them a challenge of building a bridge over the river.
This is a great activity which enables them to investigate structures in a fun way.
We found that marshmallows, were very tasty to eat, but not terribly strong! Next time - midget gems!
